Meet Tommy

A Diamond Specialist.

Tommy began his career in the diamond industry in 1988, buying and selling stones before most jewelers in the region had ever held a professional loupe. He earned his GIA Diamond Graduate certification and was accepted into the New York Diamond Dealers Club in 1997, joining one of the most exclusive and respected organizations in the global diamond trade with roughly 2,000 members worldwide.

For 18 years Tommy traveled to international diamond sourcing centers every 45 days, buying directly at the origin and bypassing the layers of middlemen that inflate prices and obscure quality. He opened Tovon & Co. Diamonds in Dallas, PA in 1992, bringing that expertise home to Back Mountain.

Our History

Over 35 Years
in the Making

From a career that began buying and selling diamonds in 1988 to rebuilding after a tornado hit our store in 2018. Returning stronger to Back Mountain in the same year, every chapter of Tovon & Co. reflects the same commitment to expertise, honesty, and community.

1988

A Career Begins

Tommy enters the diamond industry, buying and selling wholesale diamonds to jewelers from the atlantic to the midwest and developing the expertise that would define his career. He begins his journey toward GIA certification and international diamond sourcing.
1992

Tovon & Co. Opens in Dallas, PA

Tommy opens the original Tovon & Co. retail store in Dallas, Pennsylvania, bringing his diamond expertise directly to the Back Mountain community for the first time. Getting the same prices from diamond cutters as he always has.
1997

Accepted into the NYDDC

Tommy is accepted into the New York Diamond Dealers Club, one of the most exclusive professional organizations in the global diamond trade with roughly 2,000 members worldwide. Membership requires professional invitation and cannot be purchased or joined--only accepted.
2018

The Tornado. The Return.

On June 13, 2018, a tornado destroys the Wilkes-Barre location completely. Tommy rebuilds and returns to Dallas, Pennsylvania, his origin market, and the community he has served from the beginning.

Tovon & Co. continues to serve Back Mountain and all of northeastern Pennsylvania as the region's only NYDDC member, offering custom design, diamond education, in-house expert repair, and hand-selected fine jewelry.

Custom jewelry at Tovon & Co. is not a service offered on the side. It is central to everything we do. Tommy designs every piece in-house, from the initial concept conversation through CAD design or hand-carved wax models, 3D printed try-on models of your piece so that you can physically wear before anything is fabricated, and final construction.

Almost all of our work is not outsourced. No custom designs are generic or outsourced. Every custom piece, heirloom restoration, and redesign project is handled from start to finish right here in Dallas, PA by a craftsman with over 35 years of experience and credentials no competitor in the region can match.
